Xiaomi has announced that seven of its smartphones have reached the end of their life cycle (EOL) this month. This means these devices will no longer receive updates, including security patches and operating system upgrades.
The list encompasses devices from various segments, ranging from the high-performance Poco F4 GT and Redmi K50 Gaming aimed at gaming enthusiasts, to the budget-friendly Redmi 10A. Notably, the Xiaomi 11i HyperCharge is recognized for its groundbreaking 120W fast charging capability.
While the official end of the support period does not mean these devices will cease functioning, the lack of updates could pose significant risks, particularly concerning user data security.
Xiaomi has indicated that certain devices will receive a final update before support officially ends. For instance, the Poco F4 GT will be updated to HyperOS 2.0.1.0 based on Android 14, while the Redmi K50 Gaming will be upgraded to HyperOS 2.0.2.0. These updates will provide users with access to the latest features.
The company strongly recommends that users of these older models consider transitioning to newer devices to ensure continued access to updates and enhanced security features.
