Vivo has officially introduced the Vivo X200 Ultra at a major event in China, setting new standards in smartphone photography. This flagship device stands out with its advanced camera technology, featuring dual image processors and the powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite chip.
The X200 Ultra is the crown jewel of the X200 series, powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite processor. It comes with either 12 GB or 16 GB of LPDDR5X Ultra RAM, paired with storage options of 256 GB, 512 GB, or 1 TB UFS 4.1. The front boasts a stunning 6.82-inch LTPO AMOLED display with QHD+ resolution, offering vibrant visuals with its 10-bit color, peak brightness of 4500 nits, and a 120 Hz refresh rate.
Distinctively, the X200 Ultra’s camera system sets it apart. It features a customizable “V key” located on the right side, strategically placed for easy access by the index finger, serving as the “best shutter”. Vivo has incorporated two dedicated camera chips into this device: the V3+ ISP for traditional post-processing, and the innovative VS1 chip, which manages tasks such as exposure, focus, and image stacking. The VS1 chip processes data before handing it over to the V3+ for advanced processing, including noise reduction and sharpening.
The rear camera array includes a 50MP main camera powered by a 1/1.28-inch Sony LYT-818 sensor (f/1.7), a 200MP telephoto camera with a 1/1.4-inch Samsung ISOCELL HP9 sensor (85mm equivalent focal length), and another 50MP Sony LYT-818 sensor for ultra-wide shots. All cameras support 4K video recording at 120 fps, with 60 fps recording capable of Dolby Vision. The front-facing selfie camera is equipped with a 50 MP sensor.
Vivo enhances the X200 Ultra’s photographic capabilities with an optional teleconverter lens, providing an additional 2.35x zoom to the telephoto camera, achieving a 200mm equivalent focal length. This teleconverter lens is part of a special Photography Kit, which includes various additional lenses, a strap, a USB-C grip case, and an extra 2300 mAh battery.
Beyond its camera prowess, the X200 Ultra offers robust performance with OriginOS based on Android 15. It houses a 6000 mAh battery that supports 90W wired and 40W wireless charging. Available in Black, Red, and White, its design echoes the elegance of a Rimowa suitcase. Pricing starts at $900/€775 for the 12/256 GB model, $1100/€950 for the 16 GB/1 TB variant with satellite communication, and $1350/€1150 for the version inclusive of the Photography Kit. However, availability outside China remains uncertain.
