Recently, it secured a spot in the Guinness Book of Records with accolades such as ‘Best-selling local co-op game on Steam’, ‘Best-selling local co-op game in 48 hours’, and ‘Best-selling local co-op game in a week’.
Produced by Story Kitchen, known for works like ToeJam and Earl, Vampire Survivors, and Slime Rancher, alongside Electric Somewhere, founded by director Jon M. Chu, the latest news reveals that Sydney Sweeney will headline the big screen adaptation. While her specific character role remains undisclosed, she could portray either Mio or Zoe.
In addition to her acting role, Sydney Sweeney will also serve as the executive producer. The screenplay will be crafted by Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese, renowned for their work on Deadpool & Wolverine.
Split Fiction started with 32,471 concurrent players on its first day, quickly climbing by 197,434 players to reach a peak of 259,003 concurrent players on the Steam platform—a record for the developer.
Within just forty-eight hours of its release, the game surpassed the one million sales milestone, eventually reaching two million in its first week.
The game narrates the story of two writers, Mio and Zoe, who enter Rader Publishing with the aim of immersing themselves in a simulation to bring their stories to life. A mishap, however, throws them into each other’s narrative worlds, blending their sci-fi and fantasy realms. Their shared mission is to collaborate to escape their dilemma and thwart the company.
