The death toll from powerful storms sweeping across the central and eastern United States has tragically increased to at least 16. The National Weather Service has issued warnings for severe flooding throughout the weekend.

The Arkansas State Emergency Management Agency also reported the tragic death of a 5-year-old boy in his home, attributed to the severe weather conditions.

According to data from PowerOutage.us, a website that tracks power outages, over 100,000 residents in Arkansas and Tennessee were left without electricity as of Sunday morning. The storms have continued to claim lives, with reports indicating seven deaths as of Friday, April 4.
