While the latest devices enjoy an extensive update policy, some of the older models have recently seen their support period come to an end. With the launch of the Galaxy S2024 series in January 2024, Samsung announced an enhanced update policy. The company committed to providing seven years of Android, One UI, and security updates for three models within this series. Similarly, the Galaxy S25 series, revealed on January 22, follows the same policy, expected to support updates until the Android 2031 version. Throughout this period, users will receive regular security and One UI patches, ensuring their devices remain secure and up-to-date.
Samsung’s new update plan extends beyond just the Galaxy S25 models. It applies to all flagship devices released in the new period. Moreover, mid-range models introduced after the Galaxy A16 5G will also benefit from six years of updates.
