With a surge in leaks, Samsung’s upcoming smartwatches, the Galaxy Watch 8 series, are inching closer to their official release. Recent battery capacity insights from certification documents hint at a modest yet significant enhancement, particularly for the standard model. The 44 mm version of the Galaxy Watch 8 is set to house a 435 mAh battery, a slight upgrade from the 425 mAh battery found in its predecessor. This increase potentially translates to improved battery life, providing users with extended usage time.
The battery specifics of the Galaxy Watch 8 Classic remain undisclosed, but reports suggest that the beloved physical rotating bezel will make a comeback, delighting fans of traditional watch aesthetics. While monumental technical advancements are not anticipated, speculation indicates the Exynos W1000 processor, utilized in last year’s models, will continue to power this series. Enhancements might include dual-frequency GPS support, coupled with a more streamlined and functional One UI Watch interface based on Wear OS 5.
As of now, there is no information regarding a second iteration of the Galaxy Watch Ultra. Currently, Samsung’s focus appears to be on the Watch 8 and Watch 8 Classic models. These new watches are likely to debut alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7, with a potential unveiling slated for the summer months, possibly July or August. The increase in battery capacity is expected to contribute significantly to the daily efficiency of the new models, ensuring they meet user expectations for performance and longevity.
