Riot Games has officially revealed that their upcoming fighting game, 2XKO, will include a robust offline mode. This mode will allow players to access and play all available characters without any restrictions.
During a recent Q&A session held in France, Tom Cannon, the director of 2XKO, shared insights about the game’s features. He emphasized that the offline mode is designed with both casual players and tournament organizers in mind. “We understand the challenges involved in setting up tournaments,” Cannon noted. “Our goal is to streamline this process, ensuring organizers can host events without the need for an internet connection. Additionally, players will have immediate access to all characters, eliminating the hassle of unlocking them.”
This feature is highly anticipated by players who enjoy the game recreationally. However, concerns have been raised regarding the prevention of cheating in offline tournaments. While offline play is possible, devices might still be equipped with embedded anti-cheat systems. Moreover, Riot’s proprietary anti-cheat technology, Vanguard, will be integrated into 2XKO. Notably, Vanguard requires an internet connection to function, ensuring fair play during online matches.
