Bethesda Softworks has finally made the much-anticipated announcement of the release date for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered. The remastered version is set to be unveiled tomorrow, and fans are eager to see if it will be available for purchase immediately. For some time now, there have been numerous speculations and rumors surrounding Oblivion Remastered. Recently, a leak from the Virtuous website confirmed that the project, previously rumored to be a remake, is indeed a remaster. This revelation came with comparison images showcasing its enhanced visuals, hinting at a visual treat for fans. A special edition of the game has also been hinted at.
Despite the storm created by the leak on the developer studio’s website, Bethesda Softworks remained tight-lipped until today. They have now shared on their social media account that the official reveal of Oblivion Remastered will occur tomorrow at 18:00 TSI. Check out the announcement on Twitter.
In the past, there were rumors suggesting that the remastered version might launch quietly, without much fanfare. Moreover, it was speculated that the release would coincide with the conclusion of The Elder Scrolls Online anniversary event. With the unveiling happening tomorrow, we are about to discover another well-guarded secret: Oblivion Remastered.
Industry insider Jeff Grubb previously suggested that the remastered version would be released in April. The question remains whether it will be available to players soon after its announcement or if a longer wait is in store.
The remaster, developed using Unreal Engine 5, was leaked by an X user named X0X_LEAK, revealing it would require approximately 120.94 GB of free space. The next-gen lighting systems, detailed environmental designs, and high-resolution textures visible in the leaked screenshots indicated that the game would demand significant storage. Naturally, this is expected, considering it includes the base game along with all previously released downloadable content.
Finally, priced at an anticipated 39.99 USD, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered is also expected to be available in the Game Pass library from day one.
