In an effort to invigorate maritime tourism and strengthen cultural, social, and economic connections across the Aegean, Izmir Metropolitan Municipality has introduced the Çeşme-Sakız route to its existing Izmir-Midilli voyages. Operated by IZDENIZ, these routes ensure a seamless travel experience between the two regions. Commencing on April 16, the new daily voyages to Chios Island will offer travelers a swift and comfortable passage.
For those planning a round-trip journey, adult tickets are priced at 50 Euros. One-way tickets from Çeşme to Chios are available for 40 Euros, while the return from Chios to Çeşme costs 30 Euros. Child fares (ages 6-12) are set at 35 Euros for a round-trip, 30 Euros for Çeşme to Chios, and 25 Euros for the return. Children under 6 can travel for a one-way fare of 25 Euros from Çeşme to Chios and 20 Euros for the return trip.
Travelers to Chios can opt for a door visa or utilize a Schengen visa. Those holding green passports enjoy visa-free access. It’s important to note that passports must have a minimum validity of 90 days. Additionally, Turkish citizens aged seven and above are required to pay an international travel fee, which must be settled through designated banks or online prior to departure. As part of the Izmir-Midilli cruise itinerary, special sailings are scheduled for May 17 and June 6, aligning with the celebrations of the May 19 Youth and Sports Day and Eid al-Adha. Regular voyages on the Izmir-Midilli route will officially commence on June 20, offering an expanded array of travel options.
