Released by the renowned gaming giants Bethesda Softworks and id Software, the latest trailer for DOOM: The Dark Ages has officially been unveiled. This new installment takes players to a mysterious realm deeply inspired by the lore of Cthulhu mythology, as detailed in our latest news update.

After a long five-year wait, the next chapter in the DOOM saga is set to make its highly anticipated debut next month. DOOM: Eternal will transport enthusiasts back to the Middle Ages, revisiting the roots of the DOOM Slayer’s legendary rage. Currently available for pre-order, the game will launch on May 15, 2025, for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series.

Exploring the Cosmic Realm

The newly released trailer for DOOM: The Dark Ages gives us a deeper dive into the Cosmic Realm, a setting intertwined with hellish elements and inspired by Lovecraftian artifacts. As seen in the trailer, this realm introduces formidable new adversaries such as the Cosmic Baron, who challenges players to adeptly dodge attacks, and a Cacodemon hybrid, which uses its tentacles to stun its foes.

Notably, the game introduces a new weapon called the Reavershot. This powerful armament operates as a heavy iron ball and chain thrower, promising to deliver significant damage to adversaries.

In conjunction with the trailer release, game director Hugo Martin has confirmed that the game will feature an expansive twenty-two chapters, a notable increase from the thirteen chapters seen in both DOOM (2016) and DOOM Eternal.
