Lloyd’s global re/insurer, MS Amlin, has announced the appointment of John Gately as the new Head of Strategy, Financial Planning, and Performance. Gately brings with him an impressive two decades of experience in the insurance sector, having commenced his career at KPMG. Over the years, he has accumulated a wealth of experience in various senior roles, including a notable six years at Bernstein Research and five years at HSBC, where he spearheaded the Global Insurance Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) function.
Before joining MS Amlin, Gately was part of Hiscox, serving as Head of FP&A for their London Market business unit. In his new capacity at MS Amlin, he will be instrumental in shaping financial strategy, enhancing planning and forecasting to optimize portfolios, and spearheading data-driven performance management.
Based in London, Gately will report directly to Jessie Burrows, the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), and will be joining the Finance Leadership Team. Burrows remarked, “We are thrilled to have John join MS Amlin. His deep industry knowledge and proven ability to drive growth make him an invaluable asset to our finance leadership team.
