Pro wrestling icon Mick Foley narrowly escaped a potentially devastating car accident with only minor injuries. Foley shared a photo on his Facebook page, revealing himself standing beside his severely damaged sedan. The vehicle, which had a shattered windshield and a mangled front end, was missing its hood entirely. Foley described the incident as a “tough day” in his post.
“I have no idea how I am still walking around after this accident,” Foley wrote. “I’m currently in the hospital, feeling sore from my knees to my neck, and I’ve sustained a minor concussion.”
Foley, celebrated for his resilience and daring stunts during his wrestling career, is no stranger to pain. Wrestling under personas like Cactus Jack, Mankind, and Dude Love, he became renowned for enduring hardcore matches. These encounters included being back-dropped onto thumbtacks, taking barbed-wire bats to the face, and being thrown from the top of a 16-foot Hell in a Cell cage through an announcer’s table.
At 59, Foley has openly discussed his in-ring injuries, which encompass nearly a dozen concussions, broken bones, shattered teeth, and torn muscles and ligaments. Despite these challenges, Foley remains one of the most influential figures in professional wrestling history.
Foley’s contributions to the sport were recognized when he was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2013. His illustrious career includes being a three-time WWE Champion, an eight-time WWE Tag Team Champion, and a Hardcore Champion.
