Allianz Partners has announced the appointment of Ludovic Gros as its new Global Medical Director. Gros is set to lead Allianz Partners’ global medical community, spearhead its medical operations strategy, and act as a strategic consultant on intricate medical cases worldwide.
Before joining Allianz Partners, Gros was the Medical Director at Inter Mutuelles Assistance (IMA Group) since 2022. With over 20 years of experience in emergency medicine, disaster response, and aviation medicine, Gros brings a wealth of expertise to his new role.
Gros’s career includes significant roles in the French Armed Forces, such as Chief Flight Surgeon and French Director of the Aeromedical Evacuation Control Center at the European Air Transport Command in the Netherlands. He has also been a representative for France on NATO’s Aeromedical Working Group. Academically, he holds medical degrees from the University of Bordeaux, Sorbonne Paris Nord University, and Paris-East Créteil University, along with a Master’s degree in public administration focused on health administration and medical management.
Tomas Kunzmann, CEO of Allianz Partners, expressed that Gros’s extensive experience will bolster the company’s initiatives to enhance its global medical services and broaden its medical assistance capabilities.
Allianz Partners’ previous significant appointment was in November when Michael Buttstedt was named Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and board member. Buttstedt, who has been part of the Allianz Group for over 25 years, transitioned to this role from being the CFO at Allianz Italy for four years.
In related news, Allianz Commercial has recently announced Lara Martiner as the new Global Head of Alternative Risk Transfer at Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty SE (AGCS), effective April 1.
Beyond appointments, Allianz has extended its partnership with the International Olympic Committee (IOC) for the Worldwide Olympic and Paralympic Partnership (TOP Partnership). This extension will encompass the next four events, including the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games French Alps 2030 and the Olympic and Paralympic Games Brisbane 2032.
