While Samsung encounters challenges with the release of One UI 7, the tech giant is simultaneously forging ahead with the development of One UI 8, based on Android 16. Recent leaks have sparked excitement, as screenshots of the new version were followed by a revealing review video showcasing an early beta version.
What’s New in One UI 8?
The video, shared by SamMobile, offers a glimpse into an early iteration of One UI 8.0 hosted on the Galaxy Z Flip 6. At this stage, the software bears a striking resemblance to One UI 7. Nonetheless, the introduction of new features that Samsung had previously withheld from One UI 7 is evident.
A prominent addition is Now Brief. Initially exclusive to the Galaxy S25 series, this feature is now poised to extend its reach to older devices under One UI 8. Another enhancement includes support for log video recording within the camera application.
Moreover, One UI 8.0 showcases a revamped Quick Share app, elevating file-sharing capabilities. The update brings refreshed menu options in the Gallery, alongside notable design changes in the file manager. While these modifications are promising, further refinements are anticipated in subsequent versions.
It’s important to note that One UI 8 will not introduce drastic changes akin to One UI 7. Consequently, it is expected to avoid the delays that plagued its predecessor’s rollout.
