In a thrilling encounter at the Spanish King’s Cup final, Barcelona emerged victorious, edging out Real Madrid with a 3-2 win. The match, however, was marred by a series of disciplinary issues involving three Real Madrid players who were shown red cards.

Antonio Rüdiger found himself at the center of controversy when he threw a bag filled with ice at the referee, Ricardo De Burgos. Though the object did not make contact, the referee deemed the act aggressive and issued a red card. De Burgos explained, “He was sent off for throwing an object that didn’t hit me. After the red card, he had to be stopped by several members of the technical team and showed an aggressive behavior.”

Calls for Disciplinary Action Against Rüdiger

Former German footballer and now TV commentator, Dietmar Hamann, has strongly criticized Rüdiger’s conduct, urging for strict penalties. Speaking on the Sport1 channel, Hamann commented, “I think the DFB should remove him from the squad. He should not be invited for the semi-final match in the UEFA Nations League and he should not play in both matches.”
