French developer Sandfall has achieved a significant milestone with its inaugural release, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, a captivating turn-based RPG that has achieved over 1 million retail sales within just three days of its launch. The game, which has been met with enthusiastic reviews, debuted on April 24 and managed to sell a remarkable 500,000 units on its first day alone.
In a statement on the game’s Bluesky account, the development team clarified that this sales figure includes units shipped to retailers and does not account for players accessing the game via GamePass.
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 presents an engaging narrative where players follow the journey of a group of valiant Expeditioners tasked with confronting a mysterious entity known as the Painters. These enigmatic beings inscribe a number on a monolith annually, dooming individuals of that age to death. As the number dwindles, so does the population, adding urgency to their mission.
The game is available for PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5, offering an immersive experience for players across multiple platforms.
