Cowbell, a leader in cyber insurance for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), has extended its Cowbell Connectors to over 30 integrations with leading security and cloud service providers. These enhancements aim to refine cyber risk assessment and underwriting processes.
The Cowbell Connectors utilize inside-out data, setting them apart from solutions that depend on external or limited internal data sources. By securely extracting real-time insights from cloud environments, vulnerability scanners, endpoint security solutions, identity management platforms, and compliance tools, Cowbell Connectors provide a comprehensive view of cyber risks.
This expansion complements Cowbell’s multi-layered security model, which includes outside-in data, dark web intelligence, threat intelligence, loss costs, historical claims, and regulatory compliance. This move responds to the increasing incidence of cyberattacks, particularly in the U.S., which ranks high in data breach occurrences.
In 2024, the U.S. witnessed over 6.85 billion breached records, with the average cost of a data breach escalating to $9.36 million. Cowbell anticipates these numbers to climb further in 2025, driven by advancements in AI and ongoing geopolitical tensions that continue to amplify cyber risks.
Rajeev Gupta, co-founder & Chief Product Officer at Cowbell, noted, “A 2024 survey among chief information security officers (CISOs) in the U.S. revealed that almost 90% of organizations faced a significant risk of a material cyberattack within the following year, threatening both their reputation and financial stability. As we move into 2025, the landscape has become more daunting; AI advancements have empowered cybercriminals with more adaptive and scalable attack methods, while geopolitical instability increasingly manifests in cyberspace. Businesses must enhance their security strategies. Following the launch of our Cowbell Resiliency Services (CRS) unit earlier this year, our expanded Cowbell Connectors offer a 360-degree view of business security postures, backed by real-time inside-out insights.”
By integrating these insights into Cowbell Factors—its proprietary AI-driven risk ratings—policyholders can promptly address vulnerabilities, ensuring more precise underwriting that truly reflects their risk exposure. Demonstrating robust internal controls to underwriters and improving risk ratings can lead to lower premiums or more beneficial coverage terms over time.
The complete suite of integrations is now available on the Cowbell platform, with plans to introduce 30 additional connectors this year. These will cover areas such as cloud, email and endpoint security, third-party risk management, and Security Information & Event Management (SIEM) platforms.
