Apple Intelligence Integration

Apple Intelligence, introduced with iOS 18, became accessible on a selective basis following the iOS 18.1 update. While the majority of apps automatically support Apple Intelligence features, developers retain the option to exclude them. A recent report highlights that Meta does not integrate Apple’s AI tools within its suite of applications.

Writing Tools and Meta Apps

The Writing Tools feature, a component of Apple Intelligence, is conspicuously absent from Meta’s apps, including Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram, Threads, and Messenger. This AI functionality, which offers capabilities to correct, rewrite, and summarize text input, is unsupported across these platforms, leaving the text field devoid of Apple’s enhancements.

Genmoji Sharing Restrictions

Furthermore, Meta restricts users from sharing AI-generated Genmoji. The company has not disclosed specific reasons for the exclusion of Apple Intelligence from its iOS applications. However, it is widely assumed that Meta prefers promoting its proprietary AI solutions over alternatives like Apple Intelligence.

Meta AI is prominently featured in nearly all of Meta’s applications, providing users with tools for text creation and modification, as well as image generation. This strategic preference for Meta AI underscores the company’s focus on utilizing its own technology ecosystem.
