Android 16 has been accessible for some time through beta programs, primarily for Pixel devices. Recently, Google launched Android 16 Beta 4, marking it as the final scheduled update in this beta phase. This build signifies the second platform stability release, indicating that developer APIs and app behaviors have been finalized. Consequently, apps targeting Android 16 are now set to be released on the Play Store.
For those eager to experience Android 16 ahead of its official release, the beta version is now available for download on various devices, enabling developers to test their applications extensively.
Apart from Google, other manufacturers participating in the Android 16 beta include Xiaomi, Honor, Vivo, Realme, Oppo, OnePlus, Lenovo, Sharp, and iQOO. However, only specific devices from these manufacturers are currently eligible for the beta program. Below is the list of initial devices receiving the Android 16 beta update:
Samsung has opted not to partake in the Android 16 beta program. Instead, Samsung plans to incorporate Android 16 into its Galaxy devices via One UI 8. Although other Android OEMs possess custom Android-based interfaces, they usually participate in Google’s Android Beta Program initially. As Android 16 nears its official release, Samsung is rigorously testing One UI 8 internally, maintaining its tradition of not joining Google’s beta program this year.
