Global insurance and fintech leader, Acrisure, has revealed significant changes within its executive team. Mark Wassersug has been named as the new Chief Technology Officer, and Shawn Pelsinger will take on the role of Chief Administrative Officer. Both appointments are set to take effect later this month.
Wassersug and Pelsinger will report directly to Greg Williams, Acrisure’s Co-Founder, Chairman, and CEO. Williams remarked, “As Acrisure embarks on its next growth phase, Mark and Shawn bring invaluable experience from scaled financial technology enterprises. Their expertise will be pivotal as we expand our global technology platform and further distinguish our business.”
In his new capacity, Wassersug will spearhead Acrisure’s information technology strategies, drawing on his rich background in financial technology, operations, and mergers and acquisitions to drive the company’s expansion. Wassersug expressed, “Acrisure’s swift evolution from an insurance brokerage to a global fintech leader is truly impressive. The company’s dedication to AI, its client-centric ethos, and its boundless growth opportunities made this move an obvious choice. I’m eager to contribute to their ongoing success.”
Prior to joining Acrisure, Wassersug spent 22 years at Intercontinental Exchange (ICE), the parent firm of the New York Stock Exchange, where he most recently served as Chief Operating Officer. During his tenure, he managed top-tier engineering, IT, and operations teams, steering ICE through significant growth, acquisitions, and integrations, thus helping it scale from a startup to a premier global financial technology entity.
As Chief Administrative Officer, Pelsinger, who transitions from Palantir Technologies, will lead Acrisure’s legal, human resources, and regulatory affairs functions while supporting business development efforts. At Palantir, he served as the Global Head of Corporate Development, collaborating across various sectors including insurance, financial services, blockchain, pharmaceuticals, and more.
He also pioneered the establishment of Palantir Japan and Palantir Korea, aimed at introducing Palantir’s technology to commercial and governmental clients in these regions. Before his tenure at Palantir, Pelsinger was a corporate lawyer at A&O Shearman.
Pelsinger commented on his new role, “I’ve been truly impressed with how Acrisure has redefined its brand and evolved its technology and AI capabilities to better serve clients across diverse industries. I’m excited to collaborate with Mark and join Greg, John, and the outstanding team at Acrisure.”
